Most of us want to be unique in any way to stand out in society,because it has always been one of our main human instincts. Some have a misunderstanding about this idea,and act upon it wrongly. Imitation is one of the obstacles that anemics this is imitation,which chagrin's or kills one's identity. Lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem are two reasons of imitation. According to emerson,this aspect is considered as negligence in one's personality,killing one's own identity. As emerson mentioned "Imitation is suicide",believing that if one isn't on his true self he won't find happiness and gain people's attention,instead of being on a cliché act.
Usually one would believe in a certain religion or action as to be right depending on the society's general opinion. The matter of society's disagreement,on whatever action or belief that one finds to be right or wrong, is an act upon whatever the society itself has been raised to blindly believe. This is another aspect that emerson would disagree on,as he mentioned "What I must do is all that concerns me,not what other people think." which means that whatever one believes to be right or wrong,people's opinion shouldn't matter,and instead follow his or her own conscience and own beliefs.
